Why Hrithik Roshan needs Rentrak to fight BoxOfficeindia.com

The Box Office tracking in India has no system as there is no single independent and authentic tracking system for Box office figures. There are a lot of fake blogs that have cropped up since the last few years but the oldest among them is BoxOfficeIndia.com. A site which was launched in 2003 but is completely anonymous about its owners/contacts/office address. More details about this site can be found here : BOI - anonymous Blog

There are other established trade sites with actual trade analysts like Bollywoodhungama.com, Koimoi.com etc but these sites publish numbers a day later and are generally closer to Official numbers of Producers. BOI updates these numbers generally on the very same day and is quite often, not in the range of official numbers. but since its posts its estimates first, social media uses its numbers. But we have found a consistent pattern or should we say an Open agenda of this blog against Hrithik Roshan. The cracks were found during 2012 itself when it had declared Agneepath as a "rejected movie" on its very second day. The same film went on to 120cr+ and was a bonafide superhit. Then came 2013 and the biggest scam of this blog BOI.

Its incredible but this Blog reduced the krrish 3 numbers by  a staggering 60 crores compared to the Official numbers at 245 cr . The commentary was generally negative. Then came 2014 and they reduced 40 cr from Bang Bang, another big hrithik film whose official figures are 181 crores but this blog reported 140 crores for it. Then came Kaabil in 2017 and yet again, they have near 40 cr reduction from Official figure of 137 crores.

A case in favour of this blog can be made that Roshans probably inflated the figures of their filmkraft films. But what about Bang Bang? It was a Foxstar production. This clearly shows an obvious dirty agenda of this  blog against Hrithik Roshan. Three of his bonafide Box office successes ( Krrish 3, Bang Bang and Kaabil) have been heavily underreported by this blog and has resulted in these movies suffering a reputational risk as the captioned blog has a sizeable fan following in online world.

Hrithik Roshan cannot manage to keep ignoring this blog for long. As it has certainly caused reputational damage to him and his filmkraft production. They accuse him and his production house of forging Box office numbers and its a serious charge. The blog itself has no credentials to do so as it is completely anonymous and operates from US. It has no presence in India. But then since it is the oldest trade blog, it has managed to influence its readers and has misguided them successfully. It is therefore imperative on the Roshans to let a strong well reputed firm track the Box Office figures for all their forthcoming films. Rentrak is probably what Hrithik needs the most at this point of time.

  1. BOI is the paid blog by other big stars and they reduce Hrithik movies earning from actual. Other big stars are actually scared and stop success of Hrithik.

  5. @jagdish - dont know what you are trying to say.

The pattern from this BOI blog is obvious towards Hrithik Roshan. They underreport his films heavily and are extremely negative in their commentary. Look at their recent article where they are calling his Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara a "bad film". That blog is a joke. znmd was among the highest grossers of 2011 , the best trending movie and the most liked by the paying audience.
